The remarkable thing about Chablis is that it never sees the inside of an oak barrel yet always seems to have that incredibly smooth seductive texture that tricks you into thinking it has. It also comes with that world famous minerality (slightly salty mineral flavour) that you have to taste to understand.You will be hooked once you start your Chablis account!
With this example, like its younger sibling, it comes with stone fruit and floral notes, but you can also detect some hints of gunflint and even almond if your palate is on high alert. Its grapes for this premier cru were grown on just 3 and a half hectares overseen meticulously by 4th generation growers, brother and sister Jean-luc and Marie Jo Fourrey. This is a super sophisticated artisan chardonnay. You can drink it now or let it age and develop its aromas further if you have the patience. We’ll wait for our invite to your place in a few years’ time because ours will be long gone!
