These two rosés are amazing examples of how the French make rosé. The Chateau Haut-Maco Rosé 2018 is from the world-renowned Bordeaux area, produced on soil first cultivated for wine by the Etruscans 2000 years ago! This is a very pretty merlot dominant rosé permeating strawberries and cherries and showing a trace of baby smooth tannins. A gorgeous food wine! The La Perrière ‘La Petite Perrière‘ Pinot Noir Rosé 2018 was one of those jaw dropping wines. Popsy said ‘this wine is so pretty that if it had a pulse I’d date it’! Nothing more could be truer. The Loire Valley has been making rosés for eons and this one is a slow seduction of wafting strawberries and cream. All with a delightfully long palate.
