Wagyu beef char grilled on a BBQ, served with a creamy mushroom sauce
- 250 gram quality Wagyu fillets
- 8 mushrooms – choose your favourites
- 50 grams butter
- 150ml thickened cream
- Olive oil
Rub olive oil over the Wagyu fillets and let sit for 10 minutes. When cooking steak it is best to have the meat closer to the room temperature than straight out of the fridge.
In a pre-heated fry pan add olive oil and the sliced mushrooms. Stir to soften the mushroom. Then add the butter and cream and stir until ingredients mixed together. Reduce the heat to very low and let simmer for 10 minutes stirring often.
On a very hot BBQ place the wagyu on the grill. Cook for approximately 5 minutes each side for medium rare. Rest the wagyu for 5 minutes.
Place the wagyu on a plate and spoon on the sauce being generous.
