Angst Chitry Bourgogne Chardonnay 2020
Make it yours now for
Céline and Antoine Angst are relative newcomers to the very old and traditional northern Burgundy wine region where they are now based. Not coming from wine making families, Antoine dreamed about making wine for many years and finally followed his dream in 2013 where he and his wife Céline purchased a small farm in the village of Courgis. From there, they vinify their superb range of northern Burgundian wines including gorgeous chardonnays from several surrounding areas including Chablis and Chitry, and a wonderful, rich pinot noir from Irancy.
This wonderful chardonnay from Chitry has all the hallmarks of a very upmarket Burgundian white. It goes through a secondary malolactic fermentation and spends up to 8 months on less. This process adds to its excellent richness and makes it a wonderfully textural wine. It presents with lovely white flowers and peaches on the nose, then more of the same on the palate with the inclusion of rock melon, a touch of citrus and some mineral hint to boot. This is quite a rich, fruit forward chardonnay with a lovely long palate. A very classy drop for any chardonnay lover!
Match this drop with a baked snapper and beurre blanc sauce and let the magic begin!
