Angst Irancy Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019
Make it yours now for
Céline and Antoine Angst are relative newcomers to the very old and traditional northern Burgundy wine region where they are now based. Not coming from wine making families, Antoine dreamed about making wine for many years and finally followed his dream in 2013 where he and his wife Céline purchased a small farm in the village of Courgis. From there, they vinify their superb range of northern Burgundian wines including gorgeous chardonnays from several surrounding areas including Chablis and Chitry, and a wonderful, rich pinot noir from Irancy.
This very classy red Burgundy from the village of Irancy is full of pinot noir goodness! Raspberry, pomegranate, rhubarb on the nose. More of the same on what is a very long, rich palate, with a hint of blueberries to end the ride. Oak is there but plays very much a background role. It adds to the fabulously textural mouthfeel and the length of palate. This is a super classy Burgundy that you can hardly believe you can make yours for less than $60 in Australia.
Match this with a slow cooked pork scotch fillet and classic coleslaw and advance to the doors of heaven!
