Chateau Haut-Maco Rosé 2018
Make it yours now for
This is one not to miss. From the world-renowned Bordeaux area, produced by a family who have been making wine for almost 200 years is this very pretty merlot dominant rosé. Rosé has been made for centuries in Bordeaux, coined 'Clairet' it won acclaim amongst English royals and high society in the early 1800's. Today it is once again making international waves.
When we first tasted this wine while visiting Bordeaux, we knew it was coming home with us to Australia! It is an aromatic wine with a nose that has lovely notes of strawberry, cherry, cranberry and rhubarb while the palate showcases much of the same fruit but with a dollop of lush cream. It has perfectly balanced acid making it fresh but not overly zesty, and a trace of tannins making it extra food friendly. Lunch on a spring day with family and friends, you can match almost any food with this gorgeous wine.
It went beautifully with a rosemary roast chicken (click for recipe)!
